Certified Scrum Trainer Peter Green
Biography:
Peter Green is Adobe's in house Agile Transformation Leader, where he leads a team of trainers and coaches that have helped Adobe's teams and organization adopt an agile mindset. He is a Certified Scrum Trainer and an active participant in the Scrum Alliance community, and has trained more than 2,000 people in scrum and other agile techniques.
Peter's degree is in Music Composition, and he worked for several years in the Phoenix area as a professional trumpet player, composer, arranger, and recording engineer. He started his career in software as a tester for Cool Edit Pro. When Adobe acquired Cool Edit in 2003, Peter was asked to join Adobe as a Quality Engineer. After releasing three versions of Adobe Audition, he became the Program Manager for Adobe's audio products and shortly after led the team to adopt scrum for Soundbooth CS3, becoming a CSM from Ken Schwaber and acting as ScrumMaster for the project.

After a very successful Soundbooth release, Peter became the Group Program Manager for Adobe's Creative Suite for the CS4 cycle, where he managed the release of this massive project of over 1000 people, 14 point products, and dozens of shared technology teams. While not doing this "day-job", Peter was actively sharing his experience using scrum with other Adobe teams. He coordinated several in-house CSM training sessions during that cycle, and worked to build an agile community at Adobe. After shipping CS4, Peter became Adobe's full time scrum trainer and coach, and has since trained more than 2000 developers in dozens of teams across all of Adobe's business units. Peter now leads a team of trainers and coaches as part of Adobe's Quality Initiative, which helps Adobe reach its goals of delighting customers, providing an innovative place to work, and continuously improving our approach to building great products.
Peter takes the spirit of agility seriously in his training and coaching efforts, continuously improving through inspection and adaptation. Through these efforts, Peter has expanded Adobe's training offering from basic scrum training (still the most popular course at Adobe) to include Agile & Lean Operations, Agile Product Ownership, Becoming a Great Scrum Master, Agile Estimation Techniques, Writing a Great Product Backlog, and more. Peter believes one of the best ways to improve is to work with other expert trainers. As such Peter thanks Ken Schwaber, Mitch Lacey, Mike Cohn, Alistair Cockburn, Lyssa Adkins, Michael Spayd, Luke Hohmann, and Roger Brown for allowing him to take courses from them, teaching their classes at Adobe, or allowing Peter to co-teach with them (or some combination thereof).
Peter is an active participant in the agile community, having presented at Scrum Gatherings, Agile Alliance conferences, and at the 2011 HICSS conference, which included publication of his paper "Measuring the Impact of Scrum on Product Development at Adobe Systems" in the IEEE journal. Peter is currently acting as a scrum master for the community of Certified Scrum Trainers and Certified Scrum Coaches, where he helps facilitate and make transparent the efforts of that community.

When he's not training, coaching, and helping teams, Peter is still an avid trumpet player in the San Diego area, loves playing golf and basketball, and most importantly, loves being a husband and father of four awesome kids.
